Aleksandr Tkachenko has been holding the position of the CEO in 1+1 Media since August 2008.

Aleksandr graduated from the Journalism Department at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

He started his professional career in 1988 as an editor and a host of the program “Molodizhna Studiya “GART” (“Youth Studio “GART”) on UT-1 TV channel. Eventually, he became a correspondent of the international news agency Reuters.

In 1993, he created the television company “Nova Mova” (“New Language”), which produced the analytical program “Pisliamova” (“Afterward”) with him himself as a host. “Pisliamova” premiered on UT-1 in autumn 1994, and started to air on 1+1 TV channel in two years. During this period, Oleksandr headed the news service TSN and became the Deputy CEO of 1+1 TV channel.

In 1998, Aleksandr left 1+1, focusing on developing of “Nova Mova.” During the year, the company produced the author’s program “Faces of the World” by Oleksandr Tkachenko for Inter TV channel. Among the program’s guests were the Dalai Lama, Pinochet, Jean Chrétien, Jacques Chirac and others.

In 1999, Aleksander Tkachenko was at the head of Novy channel, which became one of the three market leaders by the time of 2000. He hosted the debate between Viktor Yushchenko and Viktor Yanukovych in the time of the presidential elections in 2004. In 2008, he worked in Moscow as the Deputy CEO of the REN-TV channel.

He produced the films “House with a Turret,” “Vysotsky. Thank God I’m Alive,” “At the River”. Also, he was the producer of a lot of popular TV series, including “Milkmaid from Hatsapetovka,” “Tomorrow Will Be Tomorrow,” “Hope as Evidence of Life”, “Polka-Dot Sky”, “Shoot, Now”, “Soothsayer”, and many others.

For several years, he hosted the author’s TV program “Tkachenko.UA” on 1+1 TV channel.
